DISEASED PERSON:
Abnormal history:
Unexplained fever (tuberculosis, leishmaniasis suspected)
Investigation of suspected marrow metastasis
Abnormal examination:
Unexplained organomegaly (i.e. involving spleen, lymph nodes, liver).
Abnormal CBC:
Unexplained cytopenia or cytosis
Abnormal peripheral blood cell morphology:
Bone marrow pathology suspected
Evaluation of iron stores:
Iron deficiency anaemia
Iron overload
Investigation of lipid/glycogen storage disorders.
Abnormal radiology:
Unexplained focal bony lesions
Staging:
Lymphoma
Follow up:
Acute and chronic leukaemias, myelodysplastic syndromes, lymphoproliferative disorders
HEALTHY PERSON
Exclusion of haematological disorders in allogeneic stem cell donor
