IMAGE OF THE ISSUE
An 11 year old child presented with fever, and abnormal CBC counts i.e. TLC 420 (10e3)/uL [4 - 11 (10e3/uL)], Hb 8 g/dL [13 - 17 g/dL], MCV 82 fL [76 - 96 fL], MCH 25 pg [27 - 32 pg] Platelet 99 (10e3/uL) [150 - 450 (10e3/uL)].
His X-ray chest film showed mediastinal widening (i.e. horizontal width of mediastinum > 1/3 of X-ray chest PA film).
Flowcytometry on peripheral blood revealed following result:
Weak CD45 (98%), CD7 (99%), CD3 (98%), CD5 (95%), CD10+19 (0%), CD34 (7%), HLA DR (5%), CD20 (1%), CD7+13 (19%), CD3+33 (36%), CD4+8 (41%).
Final diagnosis was T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
